some old modular in my back shed

Some pics of a modular built in 2004-5. Originally it was to be a paper-faced Serge clone; all the 1st series of modules, which is what happened for the 1st eight panels. The 2nd eight got a bit of a mix with CGS, Patchell and a few other modules, plus some of the 2nd & 3rd gen Serge designs.

The pictures are a pretty mixed batch, some from movies, tv shows, photographers & artists that I like. Some from my own photos of favorite places or pets, others from Splendor Solis and other alchemical texts.

This synth simply wouldn't exist without all the help and kindness of Ken Stone.
Wish I had built it with bananas and in smaller cases so I could shift it without help.

New case!

Looks a bit like the last one but for the NLC lollipop logo. the main changes were in the mountings for the panels. Many thanks Nathan!!!

Saved from landfill part ?

more cast-off lab gear

the things that look like tubes have vintage transistors inside, boxes contain huge resistors and rheostats

Sub Ordnance CinC3 part2

recorded 14/1/14
Footage from the PUBLIC DOMAIN movies: The Sadist & the 1949 classic "Exercise & Health". These can both be downloaded from archive.org
The Sadist stars Arch Hall Jnr. who is either the best actor in history ...or the worst, I'm not sure but he is definitely not mediocre. All his films are great and all are in the public domain.
Anyway 20 minutes of two EMS synths, nonlinearcircuits modular, guitar & drums (real ones), no laptops, no software. It's all natural and fucking wholesome! Enjoy!

well, I built my 1st Eurorack panel.....

These panels and PCBs are for sale to DIYers
They are the same as my 4U panels but Eurorack sized; screenprinted brushed aluminium.
The singles are 8hp : AU$20
The quads are 26hp : AU$35

It is hard to get a picture of the quad panel, as you can see it looks completely different, depending on the light & background, it is the exact same panel in both pics.

Double Penetration filter

Most info about this module is HERE
Now PCBs are available ($18), which work  and are error free, but some tweaking of resistor values may prove fruitful. Suitable for Eurorack systems, panels available.

NLC logo

This emblem is a variation of the McCulloch-Pitts neurons which are described in Minsky's  "Computation: Finite and Infinite Machines" (1967). These are typically on/off neurons denoting OR, AND, NOR, NOT, etc. This variation has a triangle wave through its core to emphasize analogue rather than digital functionality.
